Is it just my browser (the latest version of Firefox) or is there a new forum update which automatically detects key words and links to those websites? So far i have found (that I remember) eBay and Tomtom. There has been quite a few more but due to beer consumption I forgot![]()
they are very annoying. can they be turned off?
or is it a form of advertising to help pay for the forum?
I edited one of my posts the other day to remove an automatically added e-bay link. I'll put my own links in.
Its something i've noticed with this latest upgrade.. there are a fair few issues with it..
One thing that shits myself, and im going to assume a fair few others is the image uploader, and that it has the option already checked for the "remove host and host locally" bit..
Spot on, this generates additional income, this is to cover a new server amongst other things which I'm hoping is just around the corner. Its only a link so I would even call it a nuisance unless I'm missing something?, I could always make mandatory popup boxes but that interferes with the member experience which I am dead against whereas a link isn't intrusive imho.
As for the image loader I have just made a change to that, which reverts it back to a legacy system, I guess only a matter of time before they force users to use it.
The way you have worded the previous post we have multiple issues, any other grievances? We don't know about issues until they're raised, every time I have put up the dev site for testing, virtually no feedback is given so we have no choice but to go in blind when an upgrade comes about.
I see I see.. I was under the impression that it was just vBulletin advertising for themselves, I didnt realise it was for JC.. My bad..
Thanks, the image loader is a ton better
One thing I can remember off the top of my head is when writing a reply, if you get to the end it doesnt send the word to the next line, it just keeps typing down.. Like this:
Type tnionmf I am typing he

I'm not understanding that one, I just tried it and it seems to work fine, is this the quick reply or advanced?
Yer I know what your talking about VK commo it's a bug with the ckeditor which will be fixed in the vbulliten update 4.1.8 when they update the current ckeditor as the current one we have now is an old version so just have to hang tight until vbulletin release 4.1.8
The current ckeditor we have now is 3.5.3 the one being released in vb 4.1.8 is 3.6.2 there has been a massive amount of bug fixes including the one your talking about VK commo between the versions.
Hope this helps cheers
None of this I gather is fixed in 4.1.7? Might be a little while off considering .7 was only recently released.
Seems vB are pushing out pointless updates, I can't even see the bug tracker to see what has or hasn't been fixed in the releases which is very handy![]()
