Hey,
I just have a couple of questions regarding the signature image.
1. How can I make the image bigger? I have seen other members signature pic and its about triple the size of mine. I have tried to resize the image with photoshop but it hasn't made a difference.
2. How can I make it so that other members can just click on the image and it redirects them to the thread where my ride is? Instead of having a link under the image (if that makes sense).
Thanks for any help![]()
Mine is this size: 350px × 135px, I resized it with the photobucket editor and its hosted there just linked here.
The script I use to link my photobucket hosted sigpic to my thread is:
<a href="http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-vu-wh-v2/176508-wepn-wh-stato-ls1-20s.html"><img src="http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/oo121/ucwepn05/2011-09-22101312-2.jpg" border="0" /></a>
just put your stuff in between the " "
I'm a noob with all this stuff I just read up on google and copied someones script lol
+ 1 on everything ucwepn said.
In regards to the size. There are size limitation in regards to how big members signature pictures can be.
Your current image it rather tall. If you changed the layout so you have the car on the left and the spec on the right, the image of the car will be bigger.
And if you're wondering why my sig pic is so big, it's a perk of being a mod.![]()
while we are at it, i have seen some members avatars are massive, even non-donating members, whats up with that?
Once again, same rules as above apply.
Non-donating members are allowed a 100x100 avatar and donating members get a 200x100.
I'm not aware of any non-donating members who have large avatars. PM me if you have concerns in regards to any specific members and I will investigate.
Mod's and Admin once again have special powers in regards to this.
Yeah i was well aware of that, just weird to see non-D members with big avatars, from memory it wasnt a regular user, but ill keep an eye out, just weird thats all.
There is the off chance that a member had an avatar set up at a time the sizing restrictions where not in effect and it's it's left over?
I know that in the case of signatures, the character count restriction came in but only took effect the next time I edited my sig.
So I went to edit something in my sig and it said I couldn't because there was too many characters even though it was exactly the same as my old sig but with a font colour change.
That would be my best guess.
Thanks very much for all your helpI would have never worked out how to do that on my own (thats why I asked). I have fixed it for now but I need to take updated pics of the car.
Is it possible to have both my cars there? or am I only allowed to have one at a time?
you can have whatever you like in the pic man, but obviously can only link it to one ride thread
Ok so I can't have two seperate pics with two seperate links
Ok no worries, thanks for your help![]()
I only know of one...maybe two people off the top of my head who have bigger sig and avatars than the average donating user.
Theyre a special exception. Whether its because they donated extra, have been a very large contributor to the forum (not only in donations but knowledge - pink users are people who have contributed a lot technically) or have just simply done a mod a "special favor" im not sure.
Other than that, only moderators have larger pics...because we can.
i know this, it was a regular blue username with a mega wide avatar, but meh, it might pop up again one day.
Also i know its not the place so apologies in advance but how do i get the - My Ride - Link in my signature like alot of people have?
Cheers

NEED 3.9 or 3.7 DIFF GEARS, PM ME IF YOU KNOW OF ANY
Go to the first page of your ride thread, copy the link, then go to 'settings', 'Edit Signature', then click on the little pic of the earth that says 'link' when you hold the mouse over it, then right click and paste the link in there, then press ok, then click 'Save Signature'.

Ok guys, ill try and explain this as best as I can, and try and show you at the same time.
I was having the same problem as you but this is how I worked it out.
'Settings', 'Edit Signature'
EXAMPLE (this is what did when I wanted to link my WH Statesman):
="http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-vu-wh-v2/167973-my-2001-holden-wh-statesman-series-2-a.html"]http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-vu-wh-v2/167973-my-2001-holden-wh-statesman-series-2-a.html"
This is how yours would have come up like.
Now all you have to do is, leave the first part how it is (with the link to your thread), but change the second part (after the ']') to whatever you want, I changed mine to the same as what my thread is called.
EXAMPLE: This is how it should look after you have edited it:
="http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-vu-wh-v2/167973-my-2001-holden-wh-statesman-series-2-a.html"]My 2001 Holden WH Statesman Series 2"
Make sure you also put in url /url (with the [] brackets), I took it out so it doesn't link them on this post.
Then click 'Save Signature'.

So, I must be missing something..?
This is the biggest I can make my sig pic?
You can edit the size of your Signature pic using photoshop. Sometimes it takes me 8 goes before I get the correct size I want. Then I upload it to photobucket and delete the other ones that I don't want. I don't want my signature pic to be too large but I also don't want to too small. That signature pic that I have now took at least an hour to keep resizing the canvas, uploading it to photobucket, not happy with the size so deleting it and trying again. The image editer in photobucket didn't make any difference at all.
