Spam Bot Testing Add-On

Evening All,
I'm sure the vast majority of you have seen our friendly spam bots telling about some great sites and the likes.

Anyway I have just installed an add-on to vB which should hopefully eliminate them, very little testing has been done so I'm hoping it doesn't stop genuine registrations but we'll soon find out.

A big thank to all of you have reported those spam posts, lets just hope its the last we see of them until they find another way.

I am pretty much at my wits end trying different methods but they seem get past whatever you chuck at them.

The upside, within 10 minutes of implementing the add-on it has already blocked 4 attempts so something is working

Well something is working 180+ attempts at creating accounts, not even 24 hours yet.

Just out of curiosity, have you had someone try to create a legitimate account to see what happens?

Been a number of new members created so I'll consider that testing enough.

Thought you'd be stocked HoZy Seems to be some nice figures ticking over, had a couple of dodgy one's get through but posts have been moderated so easily hunted down.

Funny though, it seems as though another well known forum has adopted the same attitude, it doesn't take long for the competition to copy I guess thats bound to happen when your the leader of a pack

Seems only gmail accounts getting through, have put through a temp ban on anyone using @gmail accounts on signup.
