Mechanic/Specialist Rating/Experience Thread Suggestion

Hi,

One thing which i would have found great in JC would to have another section where JC users can make note of wreckers, mechanics, specialists, etc around their area which they have used or can make comments or suggestions for.

Eg. If i had great experience with Mechanic company A, and like them, i could advise JC users of this place with my experience and location, etc.

This would be great for people looking for suitable places to go around their area having other users feedback of such places, which in most cases, word of mouth is best.

Yes, but these are only a selected few and which don't cover all mechanical categories, eg. Transmission Specialists.

I am looking for more of a section where any user can go and advise of their experiences and any recommendations for workshops they have been to around their own area.

Eg. Don't go near Lake Macquarie Mobile Mechanics who services Hunter/Maitland area, he is a rip off and untrustworthy.

The problem being we never seem to get 2 sides of the story, we had an instance not that long ago where a member was bad mouthing a particular company.

The said company got in touch and explained everything in details along with email exchanges, they had nothing to hide and was the customers fault yet the customer believed he was right. So if a member was reading that particular post on the site it would have made the company sound like they were the biggest pains to deal with and rip people off.

What's scary is the world has changed, we've been contacted countless times to remove a post or I'll see you in court type emails, we don't need it nor would it be worth the effort leaving it up there and risk someone actually going through with it.

Thats fair enough, i can understand that, looking at it from a different perspective.

Its seems nearly not-existent in finding any online resources for 'rating' type systems for mechanics, etc.

I've been shafted too many times by dodgy mechanics and i keep seeming to pick them.
