is there any way we are able to change the amount of posts veiwed from 10 to, say, 50? or more?

to be honest id love it to be 50 per page but realisitically it would take too long for the page to load for those select few members with 56k.

I've just changed the posts viewable to 25 for the time being, if all looks good and no complaints come through from those on dial-up we'll increase it again until we can reach a happy medium.
As Garth said we are not able to do it on a case by case basis, it's done for everyone.

hang on.....a long time ago you were able to change and mine was viewing 40 posts per page. I still view 40 posts per page.

I should have been clearer I guess originally.
By default, everything is 10 posts per page now 25, in your UserCP under Options from memory you have a drop box which you can select how many or how little you want.
I now own a TARAGO!!!
In the user cp you click on user controls then go down to thread options and you can choose how many posts per page.

got 25 coming up on my connection, never any faster than 45 000bps and 25 seems to load without too much hastle. any more might hurt a bit.
