yes if it is a sub section of the pub.
No it has nothing to do with cars.
Admins/Mods/Fellow members,
I've had a great idea (well I think it's pretty good), how about a Computer/Technology forum.. we all access this website/board with a Computer, and new technology is hard to keep up with at times, a new forum like this would be great, there's lots of skillful people on here I see posting from time to time (don't believe me look at them talking in "Show us your desktop
" thread in the pub and helping people out).. people with problems with any form of technology (non-car related) like their DVD burners, recommendations on what's hot/quality and just general support stuff.. but I don't know.. What do you guys reckon?
Yeah I think it is a great idea. Got my vote.
Could work, just depends on how popular it would be as to whether it would be of benifit or just clutter the place up.

Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
A good idea, but then that would be MAJORLY off topic and woudl make the site go in a completely diffrent direction eg. we have topics about the footy so we should have a footy thread.
I reckon it would be great to ahve as there are heaps of IT peeps here, and ppl would get quality help, but yea quite off topic.
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
I think it would be great to have, people always need a hand with different aspects of IT, i could also do with some help with some access problems im having![]()
I see what you guys mean about being quite off-topic.. how about.. making it a sub-forum of The Pub! That way it wouldn't increase the size of the list on the index and yeah...
as much as i like the idea, there are lots of other sites out there where people can get computer help if they really need it. as soon as you start adding computer forums and etc to JC that's when the site would lose it's direction.
i'm no business expert, but i believe when running a business you try to do one thing and that one thing well otherwise things just get out of hand and you lose site of your goal.
its not really about gigs and rams. it can be about compter games, mobile phone, PS2 games, IT questions...Originally Posted by highendrev

great idea, got my vote
i think its a good idea
we have issues with our computer that i wouldnt mind fixing
lol I will be staying impartial to this idea, I work with computer illiterates on a daily basis and I seriously mean people who can't type, can't follow simple instructions, you know the type no it's not there :b: oh yes it bloody is, I know it is just click on it etc.
God damn they need to have such things have computer licenses!
Edit: Now I know some of you have limited computer skills as I would call them but your here and typing so it doesn't put you in the same category as the above.
Impartial? But we would need your approval in the end wouldn't we?And after that to build it or get a moderator to build it lol
It would be a good place to put those questions about uploading images and resizing pictures using MSpaint etc etc.
LOL Darren! I have been saying that for YEARS! you should need a license to use a computer. I used to be a laptop tech and MY GOD the customers come out with some stupid crap! :b:
but anyway back on topic. This would have my vote for sure. Not a 'computer' forum as such, but a technology one. Everyone wants to talk about their mobile phone with a camera, an mp3 player, a TV remote control and a popcorn maker all built into one credit card sized device.
Oh... I want a phone with a popcorn maker... can you tell?![]()

i think the feedback/problems section is good for that. i mean the upsizing images etc because it is computer guff, but is related to the site therefore related to commodores!
Ive been to a couple of computer forums to ask advice and left frustrated anyway, got talked 'at' like i knew nothing. limited yes, but i know what i want and need, and i didnt need the best card thingy so i could play the little game and learn to say 'pwned' like everyone else at the forum seemed to be in love with.
My point from that? i think we all have trouble with puters, maybe juzza, put something in your byline offering computer help or something. but another sub forum or whatever - lets keep it cars.
do an ASK THE juzza, woudlnt that work the same way. if too much comes up no doubt other computer lovers will hijack the thread and share the love.
vlv8vic - wasn't whirlpool forums by any chance? I hated the attitude that a large percentage of the members had on there... like the whole world should be expected to know everything and the forum was only for discussion of new and uncharted waters. JC has that friendly atmosphere that those sorts of forums usually lack.
on that note, if we started a computer section it might nudge JC into hostile territory!

lol that rings a bell actually. there was another one, it was very a similar environment but i cant remember what it was. but yes, the one you mentioned was very.... geeks who live there?
Yeah it sort of seems the complete opposite to JC. The JC AntiMatter lol. Originally thought it might be a good idea but have changed my mind now. Those sorts of people don't usually have cars even lol.

Yeh good idea , my vote for the technology forum, to vary it between mobiles, comps, digi cams etc.
General technology would be great, but if it was just computer specific I dunno myself.. Mobiles, Gaming, Computer Help, What to buy, What software to use, where to get things, how to not get ripped off, latest tech news..
But I do agree it is a car forum, and the tech forum is a bit specific but the friendly people on JC (you know who you are.. YOU!) could help it to work, I mean worst case scenario just ignore it yeah? Make a collapsable forum group for not only this but sports, etc etc etc and call it the off topic section
Blah I don't know
I have added a poll so we can get a better idea of how many are for and how many are against. The poll is open for 2 weeks so that everyone gets a chance to see it.
