Forum Upgrade

Afternoon All,
As some of you may have noticed the forum just underwent a forum upgrade, all went well and was a little quicker than expected.

If you do notice any problems by all means let me know as at this stage I'm probably the only one that's going to be able to fix it.

The vbGarage has gone, if you need some pictures from it chuck me a PM and I'll grab them for you.

Sorry about the lack of notice, it was more or less a spur of the moment decision.

The quick reply works, you have to click the icon right of the Quote button at the bottom of each reply.

Our rides dont show in the miniprofile under location, join date post count etc.

Rides is all fixed up.

Clicking the reply button will have to do for the time being, looking through the AdminCP it has the following:

We strongly recommend that you set the option to require a click if you use Quick Reply and have Threaded Mode available on your forums.

Now if no one has any objections I'm off to find some games for the Arcade

Sorry about the high scores, I tried and tried but just gave up in the end.

As a side note I have a received a few auto generated emails regarding db errors, I haven't been able to pin point exactly where they are coming from but if you do come across one could you chuck me a PM with what you were doing and roughly what time it was so I can narrow it down.

Yer them 2 games u added dont work for me.
Im always gettin a "done, but with error on page" at the bottom of my page.
The search at the top, if u havnt noticed, has 2 down arrows.
Can you disable "click to quick reply" please.

Don't feel too bad about the high scores Darren lol I got the all now (see how long that lasts ). As adox said 2 of the games won't load for me either the 2 new ones breakout and simon.

ok, dunno about anyone else, but quick reply(pressing button next to quote) wont work on firefox. using 1.5.0.1

I just fixed the games, still not perfect, I will need to have a look at it in the morning.

The quick reply button works fine for me, I think someone said something about a reboot which fixed that.

I'm using 1.5.0.1 as I write this.

Anyone checked the spell checker yet?

Perhaps a clean out of the cache and anything like that, does it do the same thing in internet exploder? I don't mean for you to use it but hey it's good for testing purposes right

just a little something ive noticed since the upgrade...
sometimes ive got to log on up to three times before it'll let me post a reply...
once on the home page (where i always used to sign in),then ill go to a post and i wont be signed in so i do it again...that usually works,but a coupla times when ive tryed the second time its said i had an invalid user name or password.
so yeah,not too sure whats goin on there

Morning All, a few things which have come to light, more and more people are having issue's since the forum upgrade, browsing through on Google this seems fairly common.

Initial steps to be taken if your experiencing problems such as:
- Login / Logout Problems
- Certain or all buttons don't work including bold, http link, edit button

Internet Exploder
Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Hit 'Delete Cookies'
Hit 'Delete Files' (This may take a few moments)
Click OK
Close / Re-Open IE

Firefox / Mozilla
Click Tools
Click Options
Click Privacy Button across the top
Click the Cookies Tab
Click 'Clear Cookies Now'
Click the Cache tab
Click 'Clear Cache Now'
Close / Re-Open your browser

When logging in click the 'Remember me', if I don't select this I have all sorts of problems with me being logged out. I am in discussion with vBulletin on this front.

This is not going to be the ultimate fix for everyone but will fix most problems, if your still having problems it might be a proxy server or something similar.

I had problems just before on my work machine, a simple clear of the cache in Firefox did the trick.

I will be taking down the Arcade shortly Yes, I know the high scores will have gone again.

I am putting a new one up which has a lot more flexibility and all round much nicer. There is also a lot more games

Edit: I have 600 games downloading right now so we'll see how that pans out, I'm hoping Chopper Challenge is amongst it though.

Games are going on now, if you find something that is really pathetic just let me know and I'll remove it.

Also I did come across 1 or 2 which aren't exactly under 18 friendly, as I won't be testing them just let me know and I'll remove it quick smart.

There is still a bit of work to be done all up and given it's the weekend I am happy to sit down and work through everything.

what else can be done to my ride section - maybe sub headings and more editting so you can add and delete info on 1 main thread. I like the cruze section now altough maybe a member cruze list for each section would be good to familarise who is who

We can customise it a fair bit which was the main reason for ridding ourselves of the garage.

It's a matter of planning and trying what works and what doesn't work on the test site and we'll then take it from there.

I think the plan was to have subsections with all the models and they then get put into there.
