Advertising An Unofficial Cruise I Am Organising For Starlight Foundation
I posted a thread about the charity cruise i am organising but it has been deleted. Can i please ask y and is there anyway you will let me advertise this event on your forums.

permision wasnt granted from the other forum, we also have a url ban on that forum, as a result, any refference to that forum woulnd not show up. hence it was removed

ok, i didnt think i would need permission to since im 1 of the reps assisting in the event.
I have asked admin from SC about this.
If i was to get permission from that forum is there any way i can advertise it on here please

It really comes back to how it was when you were a child, they wont let us advertise our cruises on there, so why should theres be allowed here??

This is for a very good cause. we are trying to raise 5000 $ for 1 terminally sick kid get a special wish. SC aint getting a cent. If anything, it is costing them.
Come on, do the right thing here. I, along with 3 other volenteers, have worked really hard to get this up and going.

I understand that all clubs are competing, but sometimes standing up and say, im more mature about this and i can look past the pety crap between the clubs.
This is about sick kids that will most likely never get to ever been in a nice commodore.
I have emailed Ben at SC to see wat he says about wat we discussed. I just hope u look past this just once for the kids sake.

I am sure there will be no prob if any reference to that particular site are completely removed if posted here. Afterall if its all about charity then I am sure that sc will have no probs having its name/site not mentioned in relation to any cruise promoted on here whatever it takes to get more people there hey?
The admin here are completely reasonable with this type of thing. I have for the past 2 years posted up cruise info for the annual red nose day cruise I helped to organise. The same cruise has been covered by that magazine, difference is I posted all info directly on here not linking to or mentioning other forums.
Have a chat to garth or darren by pm or email, and I am sure you can come to some sort of suitable arrangement. They are both decent, compassionate guys so you should be able to work something out which will help your cause without tarnishing this forums integrity.

May i advertise the event as a charity event for the Starlight foundation with no reference to SC. Just so i can get as many people to the event as possible.
By what you have said is that this is a charity event for the Starlight foundation, thus meaning it has got nothing to do with SC. Advertise it as just that "Charity Cruise for Starlight foundation", just dont link anything to sC or other car forums. This is a Charity event ran by myself and 3 other guys but with the support of SC. This is the part that we are having problems with. They have donated advertising, etc, towards getting the event off the grounds.
I have no problem with not displaying the details about it being an SC event, but i would like to get the support from all car club members from here also.
This is for a very good cause and i would like to make it a huge success. Without everyones support we will have no chance of raising of $5000 in 1 day.
I think sometimes people need to look past the issues between clubs and think about poor timmy or jane who wont even get there licence let alone ever drive in a car as nice as anyones on here. We are so lucky to be able to drive, let alone nice cars. These kids are too sick to even come have a look at the cars at Sandown.

Dumb question but whats SC?? or is it what i think it is?? and why cant you just type the name?? Isnt it like using the ford or nissan or Mcdonalds etc etc Just a thought.

Like i said b4 this event is being organised by myself and 3 other people. These people are actually active members in both this forum and the other club. None of the organisors of the event will have any money going into there own pockets. I will assure u of that. There will be STARLIGHT FOUNDATION reps there on the day to assist in raising money and supporting the event.
In the 5 days we have had the show and cruise advertised we have had over 30 people display interest in the event. We are aiming for 200+ cars. ITs nothing small here

Let me clarify myself, Im not giving you permission to post this charity event as it is done by SC, so no you cant post it but what im saying is that if it wasnt a SC Charity event it would of been ok.

Why didnt you just organise a charity cruise, then ask clubs permission? You would not of had a problem with any of the other forums I gaurentee it, but instead you made it a SC cruise, that we can all tag along in.

I know where you are coming from. At this point u have not made an offer to sponsor the event. I suggested it to you and u wouldnt even say a maybe let alone a yes if i could get approval of publicity. i would say 90% of your members are SC members anyway. It was the 10% that might be interested in helping the kids i was after.
All i was asking was to advertise the event on ur forums. This isnt going to cost u anything to have the thread up. You could even maybe setup a cruise to join ours if u wished.
I have tried hard to be patient and work with u guys to allow this to be published. Unfortunatly it comes to you wanting publicity. This is not wat the event is about.

I know that SC isnt just doing it for the kids. But u know we cant have SC and JC as both organisors.
i dont care about how this club is supporting the event. I just want support for the kids. We can shorten the details to just cover the important things. As long as the word gets out then ill be happy
