change the rules so you need to be a member for atleast 3 months and have 30 posts. i call it the 3/30 rule. ive seen far to many people who sign up and make comments like
*nice, good luck with the sale
*your car looks good
*i agree with [name]'s suggestion
how is that 10 posts that contribute to the forums? as it has been said, this is not a trading post. people should be made to contribute here before they get the privilage of using the for sale section. using this rule will discourage people from posting an ad and then pissing off once the item is sold.
seconded, sounds like a good idea
Ok guess i try and sell my RT Roh Wheels via the trading post or Ebay, thanks for the reply![]()
there are a few things im thinking about with this, there is a clasified php out there, ive been playing with it on my home pc, hopefully if it goes well i will give the rest of the team a little look at it, and we can play from there
but i do agree that it is hard to moderate who sells what. the biggest problem i have with the for sale section is tha tpeople are asking way to much for some stuff.
i am the god of britany spears womanizer on just dance on the wii
yea but if they ask too much that is their problem. people wont buy it if they know they are getting ripped, simple as that. sellers have to remember that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
the only problem i see is something thats already happening. new users dont know about the trading post section, so if theyre after a VN part, they will post it in the VN-VP section instead. i see it happen all the time. if we make it 30 posts, thats just gonna happen a lot more.

easy... a mod/admin deletes the thread and PMs them with the correct procedure.
perhaps the wanted section can be excuse and can remain on the 10 post rule..?
thoughts or comments?
thats a good idea. most of the threads i mentioned were of people looking for stuff, not selling stuff, so that might just work

I really couldn't agree more and I'm all for it, probably easiest way is making use of the 30 post count rather than 3 months but that's without having an indepth look at it.
You can't contribute much within your first 10 posts, most don't but there is that few percent which certainly do.
If other mods don't like the idea by all means pop something up, I'm all for getting rid of the useless posts, some may think it's not worth it and not worry about signing up which again I'm all for (it saves the effort of deleting them further on down the track).
Funny though I receive emails, PM's etc about why can't I post in the for sale section, any idea's on how we can make it stand out more? I thought it was fairly obvious but obviously not.
when they sign up have it in big bold capital letters...
THIS IS NOT THE TRADING POST, YOU CAN NOT POST IN THE FOR SALE SECTION UNTIL YOU HAVE -- POSTS. IF YOU MAKE -- USLESS POSTS YOUR FORSALE ITEM WILL BE DELETED ALONG WITH YOUR ACCOUNT. NO EXCEPTIONS
why dont you include the 10 post thing in the section description, where it says - "Anything For Sale Should Go In Here" ?

I like the idea of 30, and something big and snazzy which lets people know this rule so they stop posting it in every single other forum.. and a change in "The Online Shop" forums description, the amount of stuff people with less than 10 posts try to sell in there is gay
can we ahve some sort of regulation on FS posts, so people have to include state and price in title? and their thread is deleted otherwise
SC have a good for sale section, i like theirs.Originally Posted by semi

this is a classic example of what a for sale ad should look like. it has all the info you can possibly need

I bought a VN commodore because I wanted the engine and gearbox for my HZ van... now i have 1/2 a Commodore sitting in my yard that I want to get rid of cheap.
I registered here a little while ago to do a bit of research on what bits I needed to take from the VN, and the best way to get at them, along with a few other things.
I'm fairly new to Commodores so dont have much I can add in the way of forum quality.
I could quickly spam 10 posts, replying to myself, and then get my shell up in the for sale section, degrading the forum in the process. Or I could lurk in the background, never posting it for sale, and end up parting it out on E-bay, forcing members here who are interested in it (and who I'd rather sell it to) to pay higher prices.
I understand that 10 posts to stop Trading Post fly-by-nighters, but there should also be a time minimum. I signed up over 3 months ago, and havent had more than 10 posts, simply because "Me To" posts add nothing to the forum.

- Adam
that is a good point you have. But I reckon that you should have 3 months membership plus 15 posts or something to stop people signing up and spamming straight away
I agree with the 30 post count. SC have a 50 post count before you can use the for sale section. I also agree with the 3 months as that will stop people spamming to get their post count up, although i've already sold a bodykit in the for sale section and am currently selling a sports steering wheel but i have only been a member for 2 and a bit months.
Hey Guys,
Sorry about dragging this thread up but it's certainly relevant.
I have altered the promotion system slightly (I love days off).
In order for someone to post in the 'Trading Post' section now they will require 20 posts and be a member for a minimum of 3 months.
For those who signed up prior to today or prior to that we are happy to waiver that, simply send a mod or admin a PM and they'll be able to help you out.
can u plz fix everyones avtars while ur here thanx
One thing at a timeI'm getting there.
Would it be possible to group the For Sales into For Sale by States ?
that would be helpfull...
