Evening All,
Some of you may have noticed the site grind to what appears to be a halt over the past few days, this is not due to bandwidth related instead server power.
The machine which JC sits on is also an authentication server which whilst running a replication script found a bug of some description which as an end result has caused a massive load on top of what it normally needs to contend with.
The good news is this time next week we will have our own server on it, once it's all setup and running some downtime is expected one would imagine along with a possible DNS update.
I haven't set a date to when this might be happening but it won't be that far enough.
The tax man isn't going to like me this year![]()
And yes I'll grab some of the new server once in the rack for all of you who care.
Cheers
Darren
i was wondering why it was slow. i thought it was cos i used all my downloads for the month and they dropped me to a slower speed..
Thanks for the update Darren, good to know it's being worked on![]()

In all honesty I just thought it was my connection at home, when I came in the office which happens to be where the site is hosted I thought there isn't something right here.
There you have it
At present I'm not seeing anything unusual so the problem might have fixed itself.
It's basically the same box as to what we are running on at the moment but will have a few upgrade as time permits as it means shutting down the server to do them.
If anyone wants to get up one early Saturday morning and join me in the city for a data centre trip your more than welcome.
Only hard drives left on the shopping list and I'm all done.
you paying for the trip for me Darren?
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
And here is the new JC server, the 'Boot to OS' has been fixed so it splashes up 'JustCommodores' although I didn't think to take another photo.
I am awaiting more memory but currently it sits on the E-Access network and being put through it paces before we move the site across to it in the next few weeks is the plan.
All in all I am very happy with it and a big thanks to Mike our admin who held my hand through the building process![]()
