Noticed some changes and I reckon they are great!
Signature pics, multi-quote buttons and also Date Joined on posts are all new additions I think and they're all handy!
Anything I've missed or not noticed yet?
Little swirly thing when submitting post.
Says "posting quick reply please wait".
hmmm I reckon that just about summarises it in the foreground, a few things in the background ie admin / mod section which a few people will have a taste of no doubt in the near future.
Reports have been it has stopped the spammers, this remains to be seen, we'll find out tomorrow morning I guess.
Nice work n e ways.
Awesome.. Thanks for the more enjoyable pleasure of using JC!
yeah some good changes there darren, i like the join date bit, show out post whores lol.
p.s ive been on here for over 2 years... wow
Yeah as said most of the changes are more admin based. Some of the things you all classed as 'new' arn't really, they were just turned off. With the new version of vBulletin all the templates had to be manually setup again...........must of missed turning them off again
For those interested the new additions are as follows, as quoted from the vBulletin Community Forums. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...52#post1210752
AirStrikeChanges of Note Since vBulletin 3.6.0
- Admin CP News System - additional information beyond the latest version can now be delivered to you when you visit your admin control panel. We will be using this system to make you aware of product updates and other important company information. Once you have read a piece of news, you can "dismiss" it so it won't appear again.
- Infraction System: Infraction Extension - when the same type of infraction is received twice, the second offense can now be tacked on to the first one, extending the length it's valid for. For example, a user is given an infraction for spamming posts that expires in 1 day. An hour later this user is given another spamming posts infraction. Since the user already had an active spamming posts infraction, this new infraction's expiration time is added to the end time of the previous infraction. Effectively, this new infraction will now end 1 day and 23 hours later instead of the default of 1 day.
- Infraction System: Automatic Bans - users can now be moved to banned usergroups. A stepped system can be implemented such that increasing number of points or infractions results in lengthening ban perioids.
- RSS Import Improvement - the RSS import system now handles several common but invalid RSS formats. Compatibility with character sets is also improved.
- CAPTCHA for Guest Searches - you may now optionally force guests to prove they are human before searching
- HttpOnly Cookies to Prevent XSS Attacks - certain cookies will no longer be available to JavaScript, which prevents many XSS attacks from stealing data. PHP has also accepted our patch to add this feature to PHP 5.2.0.
- Podcast Improvements - several podcast options can now be set per thread rather than just per forum
- "Search This Thread" Improvements - additional options are now available for when using "Advanced Search" from "Search This Thread"
- Improved Event Ordering - ordering of events is much improved when grouping events by date on the front page and when viewing events on the calendar daily/weekly/monthly views.

What he means is that most of the new features are found in the admin/mod section..........which you will find out about when we use them!! Such as the new infractions.........everytime you are bad we give you an infraction, which if you incure enough points causes you to be automatically banned

I was talking more or less about the infraction system, it hasn't been setup as yet but will be no doubt soon enough.
One thing, is it me or has the reply to post emails look a little different, where it quotes and then goes on to the message.
There are probably even more changes as I was too slack to do the 3.6.0 upgrade as the templates needed to be altered a fair bit.
With these infractions.. You can't get an 'infraction' if a moderator/admin simply doesn't agree with a post, can you.. It would have to go with the rule system? And do we still cop the three warnings?
There will prob be no 'warnings' as such as when you give someone an infraction you have to send a PM to them with it, and since nothing will happen untill you recieve around 10 infraction points (need to break the rules around 4+times to reach this) they act as warnings.
With regards to the reasons, there will be preset reasons for them, ie: fighting, inappropriate language, signature rule violation, etc but we can make our own up. When this happens, like reputation comments, we can review them so if anyone feels the reason isnt valid simply email admin@justcommodores.com.au with your username and reason why you feel the infraction isnt valid and either myself, Darren or Garth will look into it.

why is the emphasis always on warnings and bannings and other forms of disciplines?
Oh, greengopher, was just a question out of general curiousity!
