Uploading Avatars.

Is anyone else having problems uploading files as avatars?

I'm trying to upload a file as my avatar. I crop to 50 x 50 pixels and it's well under 18kB. I go to upload and it's giving me some crock of shit saying that it's not a valid GIF or JPEG file. IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not aware of any issues with avatars.
