How about a Car of The Month on JC?

Every month, we could vote for a member's ride, or with their permission we could make some desktop wallpapers for free?

What are your ideas or comments?

Have a pic shown in a banner or sumfink.

I did remember sumthink bout this was being discussed but dont know wat happened.

And if need be, the admins can put the Just Commodores logo in a corner of the wallpaper for advertising purposes

We would have to work out how we are going to do it. Would prob have the admin/mod team pick say 3 cars for the month and have the members vote which one they like.

Prob alternate each month. Would have to group similar cars. Hard to compare a car made to run quick times with another with a $10K stereo.

Yeah maybe one car for show for one month, then a performance car the next etc. Or perhaps a model or two per month for example, a few VB's one month, VY's the next. Just an idea.

why dont we do it like this who ever runs it says this month is performance and then everyone who thinks there car is in the running for performance car of the month adds there car to the competition cause then it is fair everyones car is being judged on the same thing

Also u can have all round car for best overall car things like that will work

that would be ok could have best say VB-VL one month VN-VS, VT-VY etc
instead of putting them into smaller groups like VB-VK, VL, VN-VP etc
go by the different platforms if you get what i mean

and utes seperate....like vu and vy utes aren't mixed in with vt-vx and normal vy sedans and wagons....coz utes are completely different....should be all utes vu-vz in one catagory

nah i recon throw the utes in with the sedans like with statesmans go with the year they were made so my 92VQ go with vn-vp get me? 2 confusing if ya start having to many sperate groups

Remember guys, its not a competition, just a feature. It shouldn't come down to categories, just an even distribution of models.

Ok its in motion now. Until we work out a better or different system we'll have the admin/mods vote for 5 cars, and then the members can vote on the favourite one.

im going to have to get to work unless there will be a work in progress month my car is probably one of the worst looking on this forum atm lol im liking this idea though there are a lot of nice cars in the rides and project sub forums

And i'll say it again, No one is going to be winning anything. It will be a feature. All the person will receive is the glory of having their car displayed in a prominent spot on the site/forum for a yet to be determined period of time.

That would depend on the owner I guess and the quality of the shots. Remembering we are not a glossy magazine with photographers running around doing shoots.

i think it would be a great idea, just hope to many people don't get to serious about it, ie like vy_storm said quality of shots, just hope people don't winge they didn't win because they think there car photos didn't do them justice.

but still i'd love to see it happen, be some good fun.

Is there any updates on this? I think its a great idea. mnaybe even have the cars owner write a brief out line of the cars history mods etc. Maybe make the only valid entrants are those who have filled out the My Ride section correctly and with pics? Just a thought.

We still haven't come up with an effective way of determining who be the nominees for the month.
