Just a question... is there some kind of welcome message for first time visitors or new users that gives maybe a brief introduction to the forum and why/how it had been set up, who set it up, and the history of the site? If not maybe it would be a good idea?

There is a welcome message but that is about it, just explaining to read the rules and enjoy your stay pretty much.

If you search around there has been a few threads within the feedback section giving history into the site though which you might or might not find interesting.

If there's any particulars you want to know I'm sure we could answer them without any troubles.
