Suggestion: VIP rank

Hey guise,

Just a suggestion to make a new rank called a VIP, this rank could be awarded to a forum member who reaches or exceeds 1500 post count, this can show other forum members that this member is well known amongst the JustCommodores community and is a valuable member. A custom colour of orange would be good to show their difference also. This would add a bit of colour to for forum and differentiate them from the crowd.

What do yas think.

O.k. how about this, a hall of fame type thing where a user has contributed alot of time and energy, helped out others when needed and generally been a positive influence on JC.

You could gain eligibility at 1500 posts but then have to be voted by either the mods or all users?

ive been a member for the same time as mack, good ol 2005 when i first brought a commodore!
and i recently lost 400 posts? when the db corrupted? but i dont really care :P post count is just a number,

i think mack just wants moar power, but we should make it 3000posts just to spite mack, then delete every un useful post he makes :P

i reckon it would be fixed by changing the rep system a bit. the little green dots mean nothing unless someone bothers to hover the mouse over them to find out what rank it is. maybe keep the dots, but put the rank next to it if possible

People can give rep for anything pretty much. No one is gonna ask to have stupid positve rep removed are they? no... I dont use the rep system, not because i have a bad rep, just cos its crap. HONEST CRAP. Its abused, its not moderted enough. CRAP.

But it makes it more fun, fun is what the internet is about. Also, somtimes it can encourage people with knowledge to post, I know sometimes I just CBF posting or answering someones plee. This way we can get moar information onto this forum. But from good also comes bad, with the event of unknowledgable people posting random crap to raise thier posts.

How do most other forums work the rankings? Our rep system is very flawed as said, and is largely a waste of time especially as many turn their rep off now.
