Default What is wrong with this site's clock?

I have just posted an entry to a thread at 7.24pm, yet the clock on the thread shows that I posted it at 5.53pm.

    What's the go?

^^^ says it was posted at 7.26 pm! could just be you.

Edit: If you're talking about the thread in the pub, it also says 7.23pm here.

    Rufus,

I don't understand what's taking place, but as I posted the original entry, the clock was showing a time much earlier. As I look at it now, it still shows the posting time as "Today, 5.56pm."

Obviously not an issue worth worrying about but it's got me stuffed.

I think it may have to do with SA going to day light saving 3 weeks early - maybe.

I've noticed a few times the clock has been 1 hour out

The time is half an hour behind which given I'm in Sydney is spot on.

The server is in Adelaide, the host is in Adelaide and I'm from Adelaide so most could probably guess that the time is certainly CST.

I suspect whatever the issue is it certainly would be to do with day light savings, I probably won't get a chance to have more of a look at it until I get back home tomorrow given it's not exactly high priority since my clock is accurate

    Hi Darren

It never occurred to me that time zones would be behind this. If the server is located in Adelaide, that could explain the time difference. It certainly isn't an issue worth worrying about, I just wondered what was causing the difference.

I must say it feels quite different not having to hassle the host every 5 minute saying the site is down or the time is wrong

It's almost a relief when an issue is found.

Should fix itself when we go to the normal daylight saving time - I suspect the server sinc's its time with the world clock thing every now and then and because SA went to DLS Time 3 weeks early it's messed with the hard coded DLS Times. Or maybe not
