So i was thinking today at work, how many times have i gone looking for items in my state but yet to find any, or how many times have i found the item i want but then find out its in another state and they arent willing to post the item.
What i think would be really smart would be to have the for sale section for cars, parts and WTB section sorted into states but still linked how they are now.
For example,
FOR SALE - section
(SA) 19 x vs manual commodores
(SA) FOR SALE - a new category thats under the SA part of the forums, basically sorting them out and having them appear in there appropriate sub forums.
It could be built into when your posting an item up for sale and have to choose the state and make it automatically do it, but also have them linked, so if i posted in the SA forums in the for sale section, it would show up in the normal for sale section aswell.
Just thought it would be a good idea, but probs too much effort

This had been bought previously, from my point of view it just gets plain ugly when adding sub forum after sub forum after even more sub forums.
Not too long ago we put the state prefix in, this I feel is enough.
IMHO, it's very easy to differentiate between the states, if the user elects not to send interstate this is fair enough I guess, it's much easier to deal with someone local.
none. the SA, VIC, etc abbreviations that you choose when creating a thread were added to negate the need for section upon section of for sale area.
please look at the similar threads at the bottom of this page for more info
ok no worries just a thought cheers, close thread please

I'm one of the ones that suggested it, along with numerous other people.
I still don't understand the problem, each state only needs 2 sections (3 would be better, but you can get away with 2).
I'm not sure on the technical side of it, or is the only reason that too many section look ugly?

Easy solution - hit the "search this forum button" at the top of the forum (for sale, wanted, etc.), and hit advanced search. Now only change the: "Find Threads with Prefix" to read the abbreviation of your state (for example [vic]). Now hit search now button and like magic it shows all of the threads for things located in your state (since I think entering a prefix is required to post a new thread - if it's not then I recommend admin makes this the case).
