Ive just had a thought come to mind. I'm sure everyone gets tired of new members signing up to make new threads such as what exhaust do i put on my car, do ebay chips work, how can i get a greenfoam tune, etc.
Is there anyway we can create a page that comes up once a user registers, before they access the forum, similar to a terms/conditions page, that gives a list of commonly asked questions, and provides links to a related thread? It might save people having to post "use the search" all the time, and hopefully save a lot of useless threads being made. Some of these threads are becoming a joke, with the same questions being asked multiple days in a row.

In all honesty I don't know whether it would be worth the effort being put in, it's a bit like PC policies at work, don't install software on your computer (well to that affect), you almost have a heart attack when you come across a machine which has exactly what you put on it from the image. They just simply don't care.
Heck you know how many people post tech questions in the 'My Ride' section, it's seriously not funny hence why all new threads in that section are now moderated.
I know one of my co-workers has mentioned the daily exhaust threads a few times, as funny as it is I certainly agree.
We even went to the stage of putting in 'Check If Already Posted' when a thread is about to be created, this doesn't seem to have helped either so I'm at a loss as to what we can do.
One thought is to simply point them toward the search or the 1000th other threads and then report the post at which point we can close it.
Another possible thought is to have a volunteer or section mod (haven't given this any thought until now) of a specific section which can summarise some of those daily threads which popup into like a FAQ as you put forward.
I'm all ears on this topic, it gets a bit tiring having a page of threads but only 1 being different to the rest![]()
