JustCommodores Sit Link Always Broken?

Hey guys,
Just getting a fair bit annoyed for each time i go to get onto the JustCommodores home page, i get a page telling me the link is broken, i wait a little while try again and sometimes it works again, either my internet has gone to f*** for some reason or homepage doesnt like me? Anyone shine some light on this for me. My internet is always secure, never drops out, its got a cable for god sake lol.

I also experienced some outages a few minutes ago, since it stopped at 11:00PM I'd say it's some unannounced scheduled maintanence.

i'll forgive you since you werent here for the last site host. this has got to be the longest the sites been offline in a long time.

i very rarely get errors trying to access the site. i certainly dont remember the homepage failing specifically.

and for the record, my internet has a cable too, its a telephone cable, but a cable nonetheless


im unsure what the reason for the downtime tonight was, if darren sees this thread, he might be able to shed some light.


sidenote: please let the swear filter do its job, i know you blocked the last 3 letters, but just type it as you normally would, its less work and looks tidier.

I had no idea anything had happened, according to what I can see the server has been up for over 181 days, last issue I was recall was something to do with UPS power not being connected or something which I don't have a problem with.

Just to clarify only the main page was down and not the forum? This to me seems extremely odd since they run off the same box and even same database.

no forum was down i couldnt get on for about half an hour happened earlier in the night for a few minutes

Forum has been erratic for a couple of days. It disappears and then 10 min later it is back only to vanish again periodically (only for short time periods each time)

Very odd, it's the first time I've heard of any type of problems in some number of months, certainly sounds nothing like what we had to endure with the previous host.

I am on at various times and haven't experienced such issue's nor has anyone ie Craig who is normally pretty quick off the mark to say there are issue's hasn't said anything either.

Will hunt around the logs and see what I can find, otherwise will flick it across to the sys admin.

Yup, i noticed periods of not being able to access anything last night also.... didn't take notice of the exact times though.

I tried every link to the site, homepage etc even mannualy typing in the address and from old JC emails couldnt get nothing

I've noticed it off and on since about Thursday. One minute everything will be fine, running at full tilt, then for a couple of minutes the site will just become unreachable.

Might be worth trolling the logs to make sure it's nothing malicious.

Don't know if it was global but i lost access for a few minutes at about 6:25pm tonight.... obviously all back now. could get onto other sites no worries.

odd. could be a victorian thing as tr3nt had the same issue? also noticed a 30 minute gap in posts when pressing new posts

yip me and sammy noticed it down for at least 10 or 15 mins before

I was looking at recent posts, and any i clicked seemed to work fine.

Might have just been either side of that 15 minutes

Caught it on the graph, SNMP stopped responding to traffic it seems and then there was a spike in data as you can see in the graph.

Nothing I can see in the logs to indicate any problems although at this particular point in time I wasn't around so I couldn't determine whether or not the box was accessible.

Has anyone tried pinging the site when this has occurred?

Either way I'll let the server guys know.

I tried logging on last night when I was on a different computer, and couldn’t get through. I thought it was just a network problem with the other laptop I was using.

I coudnt log either last nigth for a while ,it was the same thing as before kept comming up web site not found , but every other website was working
