Hi guys,
I am always reading this forum and learning heaps of stuff, but have never posted here before. So here goes... Hopefully this is relevant to this forum as i haven’t really seen any airbrushing topics, so feel free to move/delete the thread.
I just wanted to show you some of my airbrush work, and get your opinions on it. I have learnt very little of what can be learnt about airbrushing, so would appreciate comments. Im currently just practicing on anything i can get my hands on, and hopefully soon some body panels.
Ideas for new designs to try would also be great, if i have time i will attempt to airbrush them and post pics
I am also thinking about starting on airbrushing engine covers, would there be any interest for this?
Thanks
man thats some very nice work!! what area/state are you in?
i wanna get something done on the impala while its still matte black (flame suit engaged) but nothing too much, just a couple of stripes or something.
The helmet and the skulls on the side of the sub box are great peices of work.
i would be interested in getting some done. As ari said what state are you in?

LOLLLL! dude, true i have put a lot of time in, doesnt mean its a good jobcome and do it free then if you wanna get some practise. i got an uber compressor, cheapish air brush (but adapter so you could use yours) and no holds barred on the paint.
the car is going to go green anyway, so even if you totally Fk it up, we can just go over it with matte black again
you know you wanna. imagine the bragging rights!
Nice work dude!

Thanks for the positive responses. I airbrushed a computer case today, and am very happy with the result, so thought i would chuck a pic up.
I spent a bit more time on this one instead of rushing it, and i think it shows.

WOW!
wow. that looks amazing! how old are you? you making this into a career?
wow amazing mate i just bought an airbrush and some other gear today to give it a go, and this has inspired me even more to become good at it :P
any tips?
i just bought a sca dual action for now until i get abit better then maybe get a flash one..
yeah i've been watching a fair bit of youtube, ebhubbs is heaps good with tutorials and stuff.. did you buy templates or?
I use a dual action 'Air Pro Tools' airbrush which was $50, i couldn't justify spending $200+ on one when i had never tried it before.
I have just been making my own stencils from thin plastic (plastic paper pocket things). They can be re-used lots, and pretty easy to make
Ahh hell yeah! Computer case looks the goods man!!
I've got a Super Cheap Airbrush sitting in the garage, had it for a few months, been meaning to try it out but havent worked up to it yet! Seeing this just makes me want to have a go too, hardest part would be thinking of 'what' to do... hmmm...
Keep the pics flowing!
Shame you are so far away I would be very interested
what ink do you use?
where do you get it?
how much is it roughly?
(enough questions yet?)![]()
Ive never understood how someone can draw so good. I can do good stick figure men.
I just use acrylic paints mixed with a 'low viscosity liquefying medium' so they can be sprayed at the correct consistency. I have never used real airbrushing paint so i can't compare it, but the acrylic is cheap and good to practice with. The medium was $10 for 250ml from an art shop, and i have only used about 1/4 of it since i started airbrushing. The tubes of paint are 'Jo Sonjas' 75ml, they are $4 from bunnings, and i have not yet used a tube either. I only mix up tiny amounts in plastic shot glasses as you really don't need much of it at all
Hope this helps
yeah man thanksi bought some tins of humbrol and some of their thinner, but it only worked with a few random colours, the other colours went all gluggy and jammed up my brush. i suppose i may as well hit the local art store then hey?
thanks again.
I airbrushed the other side of the computer case today with white flames, and experimented with fineline tape. On the front i tried pinstriping with the new pinstriping brush i got yesterday
