i know i would have to use heat resistant paint. how easy/hard is it to take the plenum off? and do i have to be carefull of anything while its off or while putting it back on?

its a 10 min job, just ensure you remove all the hoses and plugs, also you will need gasket goo for the Throttle body when you remove it

You don't need heat proof paint, preperation is key though. Why not go to a wreckers and see if they will swap for a black one

or go to a wreckers. get a 2nd hand one.
do the work to it so you can take your time.
and when its done change it over onto your car?

also post up to let us know how you go.
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that
