Hey guys
I've got a TJM hardlid and its the black ones with all the bumps and shit... I want to sand it down smooth and then get it proffesionally painted. I want to do the sanding myself so i was wondering if anyone could give me any guides or tips to do it.
What levels of sand paper? Start with and finish with?
Wipe down with?
Mechanical or hand held sanding?
Removing/Filling the TJM badge
Removing/taping Lock mechanism?
Masks? because its fibre glass?
I dont really know, so yeah anything i've missed or should do, anyhelp would be appreciated.
Oh and its fiber glass. and some photos of the hardlid.

And this is what its done to my car... >< Any ideas on how to stop this?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers
Chris
honestly, its easier to get a flat hardlid...
re where its rubbing through- have a look where it slides into the hinges there should be some sort of adjustment there and if that adjustment isnt enough just file the edges of the hard lid until it dosent touch the body anymore...
Get a dyna braid sander and rub it down with either 240 then 320 or try just 320. put some coats of primer over it and it will flatten it out. the badge should be just double sided taped on. if there are little pins behind then you can just fill them with filler. better off taking the whole thing to a shop though not many will accept things prepped by third party due to quality and warranty agreements
