i too would like to know this for my omega..
There's companies that specialize in sunroof installs. All I can say is pay a lot, at least you know it won't leak then...

DM55WA mate where was that from?
prestige sunroofs here in WA. im sure there is a similiar joint in sydney
Ive heard you can never find seals for them though if its on older cars
i painted a mazda tribute today and was thinking, i wonder if that big ass moon roof would fit on a commodore? thinking of bringing my tape measure to work tomorrow lol... it would certainly take up the whole roof space no question...
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
haha hi_ryder lets go into partnership?
turning commodores into convertibles since 2011![]()
You would comprimise the structural integrity of the car doing that I would think...

Lol, I heard there's no actual law that states a roof has to be to a certain standard, the example given was "you could have a roof made of lasagna" and it wouldn't matter... This was a while back, and I'm pretty sure it applied to companies not individuals.. Oh well a nice FYI

dont do it.
the only sun/moon roof to have is a factory fitted one
cheers
I trained as a motor trimmer and sunroof installer. Most trimmers will be able to do the install however a second hand roof would not be recommended as the potential for leaks and poor fitment is too great. Go brand new. As far as factory fitted goes, most car yards since vs commodores would get you to place an order for the car and if you wanted a sunroof then the vehicle would be sent off to a motor trimmer to have it installed. Very few came direct from the factory.
sunroof city?im sure you have one in nsw?
Yea i agree with that, was talking to the owner at prestige sunroofs and he said the same. They asked me if i was a dealer haha

I will never own a car again with a sun roof weather it's factory or not.. My last car had a factory fitted sunroof and it leaked like a biotch.. Had to seal it up and used a full corking gun of silicone and that didn't work then used tape over that to seal over the top.. Then it stopped leaking..
my last car had a sunroof and never leaked a drop

Agree 100%. The only way i could stop my stupid sunroof from leaking was to get rid of it and fit a new roof with no hole in it. Problem solved.
They're a shit idea, don't get one fitted you'll regret it.
I couldn't care how good the rest of the car is, i'd never ever buy another car with a sunroof fitted.
I had a prestige sunroof in my VT it was the best didn't have no drama about leaks or anything I'm sure as well if you get a brand spanka there would be a warranty on it
Thats it, same place where mines sitting
New sunroofs come with 3 year warranty plus free first service for "check up"
