hey today i went to autobahn and got them to mix up some paint for my cars colour code into a spray can, a while ago i took my trolly strips and the paint under neath was wrecked, so how would i go about fixing this up, i also brought a can of clear, just wondering about how many coats, how light they should be ect, i already have a fair idea of what im doing but would rather do it right the first time, also i was thinking about painting my door handles? but not sure how it will turn out but any advice on that to would be great, cheers![]()
what ever you do dont use 1k stuff, use 2k. got some pics? see how bad it is. more than likely you be sanding it back priming and repainting your doors. id be putting the strips back on lol...

nah the trolly strips were stuffed thats why i took them off, and idk if it's 1k or not :S not to sure, and its pretty much stuffed, and i didnt wanna repaint the whole doors i was hopeing just where the strips use to be, and i still have the strips if worst comes to worst i will try to fix them up and mabey put them back on
post up a couple pics, formulate a strategy from there.... if its on some lines you might be able to get away with it without it looking like an abortion...

sorry bout the photo this is the best i have, its not just that fin strip like with the commo's it was the bigger strips because its a berlina
if your doors have been painted before and they painted right over the mess cause they knew the strips were gonna cover it.... your gonna have a coont of a mess to fix. doing an acrylic fix to that is just gonna turn into an abortion. might be a good idea to get another better set of strips from pick ur ass for 5 bucks a pop. you can even refinish the strips the way you like make the job look a whole lot classier. if you try to fix that up without painting the whole door in 2k its just gonna look like a dogs brekky... but thats my opinion and opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and no one thinks theres stinks.. im saying get a new set, some marine grade urethane, and a roll of 2 inch tape....

haha, thanks but i already started today, i will put pics up tomorrow, and i decided if it doesnt look good ill just get new strips or something and that will cover up where ive painted so you wont be able to see it anyways, what about painting the door handles? i was going to colour code them but thinking of just making them a gloss black
