Painting around Poly Bushes

I recently bought some suspension items from the states and want to paint them the colour I have been using as highlites on the car.

I tried using a masking tape around the bushes though and the tape simply fell off. I tried some other types of tape and they simply fell off as well.

A mate gave me some of this paint on stuff that you let dry and it acts as a mask and then you pull it off but it was too fidly.

I would much prefer to use a tape to mask up. Anybody got a sugestion

yeah prepsol. rub it thoroughly all around the bushes, then wipe it off. layer the masking tape over everything including the part you are going to paint. then use a razor blade to cut the excess tape off. it leaves a perfect edge.
