Sand back the clear coat well enough and just prime up the areas you have bogged (if any at all) and she should be sweet...

Keep your car looking stock or if anything put a VR kit on it.. The gap between VR-VY is too large and in my opinion would look down right stupid...

Either way just cut out the rust if really bad and weld in a new section or in your case if its not too bad just grind it back and bog it up, prime it and hit it with some paint.

But I must stress, body work to a car isnt something everyone can pull off. Yeah it looks easy but there is a good reason why the blokes who do it for a living are sometimes well paid.

There wouldn't be a Trade for panel beating/spray painting if it were easy...

if its metallic, you need clear. if you want a good job, pay someone to do it properly.

just cut as much of the black crap off with a blade. then sand the rest down with some 80 paper. its the quickest way, but you will have to prime that area cause you will hit metal, but that doesnt matter.
