Hey,
I'm thinking about a colour change on my car but just thinking of the consequences.
It's currently Ignition Orange but I'm thinking about white.
Any idea on costs involved and how much value it would rip from this car?
It's a 2008 VE SV6.
the orange ve's look better then the white ones in my opinion, and i cant see why you would want to respray it white when there are plenty of white ones already getting around, if your going to repsray it it would be cool to do it in a less common colour, or you could swap you orange one for a white one mabey?
I just find that the mods I want look better on white.
Then again I haven't seen a Orange in person with the mods I want.
(Track stripes, 20" rims, something like HSV rims and HSV kit)
Sell it and buy a brand new white one. Only cost you a few grand extra on top of the cost of a quality full respray.
You got any idea how much work it would take to do a full respray, especially if the original colour is orange? If you dont do it right, yeah you lower the value of your car heaps. On a car that new, you cant take shortcuts. But doing it right means stripping everything... dash, interior trim, engine bay.. cost a bomb.
repainting the car is not the way to go, as above just sell your current car and buy a white one of the same model. but why would you want a white commodore just for the look of some cool mods, just change a few of your ideas and you can have a stand out crowd pleaser that doesn't look like every other modded white VE commodore in australia.
Don't get me wrong, I love the orangeJust some things stand out better on white. But with the above said it basically answered my questions anyway
I'll just change a couple of ideas around to suit. No biggy![]()
+1 for sell it and buy a white car, I'm surprised anyone would think otherwise in this situation.
