First time post as i have searched everywhere on google to find the answer i am looking for to no avail hoping some of you here may have the answer for me?
Basically i have purchased a 5L vs series 11 ute that was put into a pole drivers side door so from visuals the cab is stuffed so is the RHF panel the car was not insured and there for not a stat write off (and just before you question no i don't know if the chassis rails are bent but i will be making sure it gets the once over by a panel shop and if it is straight i will be using this chassis for the build) as the car still runs and drives.
NOW for my question IS IT POSSIBLE TO JUST SWAP CABS FROM ANOTHER VS OR VR VP UTE?(as i have been told in the past that it is simply four bolts lift off cab and replace with a new one bolt back on and your done.
also would there be any things i would need to do for this say engineers certificate?change tag plates?notify west australian licensing in some form?
i hope some of you can shead some light on this for me as i have searched for blueprints/assemblies on the net but have not been able to find as yet.
The cab & chassis are welded together, you could however spend days unpicking the natural seams of the body panels and graft the 2 cabs together to make one good one.

Have you tried just buffing it out?
Haha but seriously mate, I don't think this is possible with a Commodore ute. I have never heard of a Commodore ute just having 4 bolts holding the cab to the chassis.
LOL buff it out nice one
looks like it is possible but alot of time and money needed not a show car so i guess it plan B time
buy another vs ute sadan orwagon and swap it all over lots of 6's going cheap just have to find the rules to do with this type of swap and rego in w.a.
