    Default Flaking paint

After misjudging the distance between a post and my car in a parking lot I ended up hitting the post. It damaged the paint and now you can almost pull the paint off bit by bit if you wanted to. It's already flaked off a good chunk and it saddens me, I thought it would hold up (pressure washed my car by hand and was fine) but after driving through wind and rain it flaked off; So I how could I go on fixing this?
    cheers

I push the pedal to the floor, smoke them up and go.

    Here is one way.
You can sand the flaked area with 240g till the area is all smooth.
Then apply a primer filler 3 to 4 coats (10 min between coats). Use plastic primer first if there is bare plastic showing.
Then once dry (hour or so) sand the area with 800g wet.
Then scuff the rest of the panel with grey scotch brite and some scuffing paste.
Then apply 3 to 4 coats of your colour over the repair getting larger area each coat. (dont spray the colour to the edge of the panel.)
Then clear coat the whole panel. 3 to 4 coats.
THEN if using spray cans or acrylic paint. wait about 3 to 4 days and sand with 1200g wet sand paper and buff with some cutting compound.

    Hope this helps.
