    Default Injectors

    Hey Andy,

I'm considering swapping to E85 in my VE sv6 Alloytec and was wondering what size Injectors I should be using? Also I have intentions of
supercharging it when my bank account is ready for a beating. If i were to buy injectors to suit a supercharged E85 setup would that be
too big to use without the charger?

    Cheers,
    Dean

E85 requirers a fari sized fuel system. you would need to upgrade lines and pumps and possibly go a surge if you aim to crank some power out of it . i would suggest 800cc and bigger for the injectors

I think if you size the injectors right and get some high quality ones (Injector Dynamics comes to mind) they should work fine before you really need to max them out. Idle and easy cruising are going to look/act very similar with or without the supercharger...

Surge tanks are not necessary, and don't belong on the street IMHO. Our fuel systems will move enough fuel to keep the 800cc injectors happy.

That's all well to say when you've just spent $120 at BP, but what about when you're running below 1/2 a full tank? a few WOT runs are going to suck the swirl pot dry which is something you don't want.

Sorry man you are incorrect about that. My setup keeps the bucket full at all times. Even with as little as 1" of fuel on the bottom of the tank, it pulls that fuel up and fills the swirl pot to the top and overflows down the sides. Even under WOT there is the same flow of fuel from the tank into the swirl pot. That's one of the reasons we keep the stock bucket - it literally fills from the bottom. My system will suck the tank just as dry as the original setup. If you want video evidence I will be happy to make one this week if I get some time.

Kind of wish I knew about your setup before I went and did my fuel system then, would have saved me putting a surge tank and all that crap in the tray - do you do anything for VZ's or just VE?

We're working on the GTO/VZ pumper right now, but it's not yet available...
