Hey just a quick question how much can an ecotec head be shave till the pistons hit the valves i was told 30thou is way to much is this true

zzp have gone as far as 0.1" on sets of L36 heads dunno about valve clearance but probably had valve reliefs cut in the pistons
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

50-60 thou is usually the limit been a long time since i did and v6 heads So i may be wrong.
If i remember correctly use verniers or mic from the flat surface near spark plugs holes and measure total thickness cant for the life or me remember the minimum is

Shave 30 thou and chuck in some higher comp pistons, maybe the ACL Race 10:1 compression pistons. Then your sitting on about 10.5:1, thats a bit better. Decent cam, then you will start getting a tad more power.
