    Default aircleaner modifications

just wondering if any 1 knows of any mods i can do to my standard aircleaner. eg, chop off the throat/snout thingy. drill holes in the bottom. just so it can get some better air intake/flow

    Default Air cleaner mods

Mod the inlet to get cold air to the carb as hot engine bay air kills peformance. Don't think there's anything illegal in getting fresh air !!

    Good luck,

Mod the inlet to get cold air to the carb as hot engine bay air kills peformance. The air cleaner on the 2.85 litre engines had a factory CAI from memory. Don't think there's anything illegal in getting fresh air !!

i just made up a pretty sexy air cleaner yesterday usinga chrome hub cap off a HR for the top, and the base plate off the stock commodre varajet air cleaner. Looks good with the chrome rocker cover.

well ive been seriously thinking about geting a bug catcher with the 3 butterflies. gotta admitt dat would look pretty cool. but dunno what the cops would think tho. just a bolt on thing to sit on the carb, not a supa charger or nutin. just need to think of a way to centre it other wise i think it would look funny. does anyone know how much these bugcatchers cost?

hey tukrbox, i just put some bendy foil tubing from the snout of the air cleaner down between the battery and radiator and made it so it sat in the gap on the front bumper.
i surpose you could call it forced induction???
    it works a treat!!!.
if the cops say its illigal i can easily take it off on the spot.

panel filter is far superior to a pod. the panel is not even restrictive its the AFM mesh's that are the most restrictive part so remove the rear AFM mesh and use the k and n panel.

I have been told that you can cut short the standard snorkel and an AU falcon intake pipe will fit neatly (pop rivit on) to allow you to draw air in from behing the headlight like the Brocks had.

you can bolt the top of the aircleaner on upside down to get more air flow....

Turning lid upside down does nothing other than make more induction noise. More air can get into the can but more air can get out also. A snorkel or hose to a cold air source works much better.

I've had the snorkel and hose + metal pipe idea for a blue 202 "been looking at the desgins from other cars" but this would require to cut a certain amount off the air cleaner nose and move the battery into the boot...

If a create a prototype ill ket ya's know

I've got another idea it starts on the left hand side of where the grill should be, next to the radiator.. The motor fan would have to be removed and replaced with thermo's as the hose could get caught up then cut up!

Will post some pics soon as i said before

how about if you turned the aircleaner upside down and put a small scoop above it through the bonnet?
you could block off the original snorkel.
there would be plently of cool air coming in.
