Default i cant get my standard vx to do anysort of standstill...

i have a standard vx acclaim 00 and i cant get it to do anysort of standstill, i can get it spinning slightly but no more than that, even with oil...
is it in the ecu that is stopping from poppin burnouts?

I dunno... seems to be common on anything VT+... Since I've never owned one I can't say any more :P

From memory there's a pretty good thread on it in the VT-VX forum, do a search on "burnout" in there.

i think it also has alot to do with the suspension set up, cause when you hav the foot on the brake and apply the gas you will find that it drags the back end of the car down, i hav found so far the only way to over come this is to get a fair bit more power...

but then it has no trouble at all going through to 2nd gear while im warming the tyres up at the drags...

so its hard to say for sure

lmao the reason they dont bag up is cos the back end is heavy as **** and they have this thing called irs so it will bog down like a tug boat and do **** all...in short if u wanna do burnouts dont buy a vt, vx (not sure on the others as ive never seen 1 bag) or if u wanted 2 do burnouts in ya vx, vt go get linelockers or brake claps do the same thing...

Just a wild one, Remove the traction control & ABS fuse......
I had my dads VT 98` Calais hauling ass with smoke, It's not impossible for them to spin & smoke. Even he was shocked, I drove it like a manual an it loved it lol...

i know this post is old....i take my VX 2001 berlina (stock v6 IRS TCS and ABS) only mod i have done to this car is a pod filter inside the CAI system, and also jumped White with blue stripe pin on the ecu to turn the engine fan on.....i throw line lockers on the back brakes. remove the ABS fuse (disabling ABS and TCS FULLY) roll onto the pad with some 15" stockies and let her rip......

for a stock car i was blowen away she pulls doubles and burns 2 15" high wall street tires into bits after about 2-3 min...

And good luck getting a VX to change into 2nd in a auto there tranny's are shit..
