Hi all i was just wondering how to recondition a starter motor? My one at the moment seems to struggle a bit so i thought i will give it a reco.
Cheers
G'day,
To reco it "properly" you will need to buy a new drive, bushes, brushes, and a solenoid cap kit (if it is replacable) ok this will set ya back around $100-00,bare in mind this is genuine BOSCH i'm quoting, dont get after market stuff.
But if ya go up to Bursons/Repco ya should be able to walk outta there with a brand new Bosch reduction drive starter under ya arm for around $150-00,and it has a 2 year warranty from memory 12 months at least, when people come to me with a starter problem i dont even bother taking the end housing off!,its left over right into the rubbish bin, just my opinion

Thanks for that mate. Probably just easier to buy a brand new one.
Go to the wreckers and try and find the new reduction type, they are a lot smaller.
