how hard is it to turbo an rb30?
or should i buy a rb25det and loom and bolt it into the vl commodore?
its about 10 hards to do a turbo conversion
and about 13 hards to put a rb25 in
rb25 stock turbo = 100% epa friendly
rb30 non turbo converted to turbo = 0% epa friendly.
I reckon the laws are bendy enough to allow a turbo on a NA RB30 to be legal if everythings stock, since it's a factory option, same deal as bigger wheels and bigger brakes really, factory cams and manifold options are legal
It would be easier and cheaper to turbo the N/A high compression RB30 motor. I think you have to upgrade the brakes to VL turbo or better for it too be road worthy.

just wack a turbo on
I'd go with the RB25.
here we install the RB on everything, (Camaro, Laural, Supra, Cefiro ... etc)
if you want it as a daily driver, get the RB25DE (non turbo) very strong, never breaks down ...

id go rb25t all the way my mate got a turbo kit for his na vl calais and now its stuffed.but the rb25 is a simople conversion so ive been told and is faster and seay to mod
Rb25/30.
Do it!
Otherwise I'd just convert the 30, you won't destroy it if you're smart about things.
