An SV90 is the top of the line (series 1) statesman. There either Maroon (think its called ruby Red) or white, and there were ****all of them made.

But its not an SV90. My guess is someone had $30 spare on payday and bought a generic SV90 badge and has him convinced.

Boot spoiler is gone, and it has a VN SS Group A bonnet bulge. No wonder he only wants $1200 for it. Wrong grille too. And it looks to be sitting on stockies. And that plate in the engine bay doesn't look right either. Doesn't look like a build plate. Looks like a steel plate with HOLDEN SPECIAL VEHICLES on it.

Not running your mate into the ground, but wouldn't want the OP to purchase a car that isn't what he has been told it is.

Well like i said, its not a SV90 (you should have known that for 2 reasons, its NOT a statesman body, and it has SV3800 badges)

It is either genuine, or someone forked out a shitload for the rare as **** Dash clock, which was only available in that model (Sold my old one for $550)

This car has a massive sentimental value to me if i can find one, i found one not long ago and contacted the seller and said to him "i will buy your car, i just need to sell mine and i will buy it, is that ok?"

he said "yeah that is fine mate, i am in no real rush so let me know when you sell your car"

sold my car and contacted him and he told me it was gone. it was an immaculate SV3800 in Pheonix Red with only 146,000kms on it. was so angry after that!

anyway, thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. keep on the lookout for me!!

Yep, about as thrashed as a car sitting on blocks for the past 5 years can be!
It hadn't been opened or aired. That's why it's a little mouldy. Leather will do that!

i would like to see how it cleans up and how good a condition it is in mechanically but that is a bit of an ask.

My bad, i should have typed SV89......sorry for the confusion.

Its not an SV89 either. There all V8s, and have SV5000 lower kit, and bootlip similar to the SV90 stato. Not to mention better interior.

Didnt the HSV's have a 240 or 260 speedo? Or mebbe im just on drugs lol. I know somewhere along the line one of them had a greater than 220 speedo. Possibly the V8's. Anyone know?

VR and VS HSVs have the 250k speedo. I'm not aware of any model before it having anything other than 220 (although my VP has a 250k one fitted )

Lucky you lol. Been looking for a cheap one at swapmeets for a year now and no luck. Do they fit straight in Stealthy or do you have to recalibrate the computer?

You can't use the whole cluster, as VR/VS into VN/P is a big nono. Just take out your speedo unit, and put in the other speedo unit, and it'll all work fine. I paid $600 for a whole dash, but i sold off the cluster afterwards with my stock speedo in it to recoup some of the costs.

I got a grey one,
Its got 160kms on it but i dont think that correct.
It runs alright but the paints faded the trim is good the seats have leather wear and the hsv steering wheel is worn around the rim but nothing major overall.
It needs some small body work and paint and its good to go
asking $3000 im in victoria
