Well the engine in my VN (5L auto) seems to be making noises which my mechanic reckons is big end bearings. I would love to just put some new bearings in there but am afraid i will find other problems so prefer to do a complete engine swap in one day as its my daily.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:

Any v8 304 VN-VS engine that must be in good mechanical condition, and running fine. Kms are not important but prefer between 220- 260k Kms for the money i wish to spend. Does not require accessories.THE ENGINE MUST BE A GOOD RUNNER, NO SMOKE NO NOISES

My local commodore wrecker (who is quite expensive) quoted me $1000 for an engine from a VR SS with 160k Kms with no accessories, plus fitting price of $500. Therefore i am willing to spend well under that price of $1000.
