Did you want to buy a vy motor? Very easy conversion and you will get a better motor.

Hi, what would it require to convert to the vy engine? Computer, wiring loom? Don't have a great deal of cash at the moment. What would be the cost of a full conversion to a vy motor?
Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
Ps the car has gas on it.

should be a straight swap except you will have to drill and thread the hole for the coolant temp sensor for the temperature guage as the vy doesn't have a temp sensor for the guage as it works off the coolant temperature sensor for the ecu, if that makes sense

me mate put a late modle vx v6 into a vr that was wired up with the vs wireing harness and it worked fine, just had to drill and thread the hole for the sensor, all in all if you can afford a vy engine (should be cheap as) i would put it in as its newer.

My mate has a good running ecotec in his old VS. Not sure on kms but he has changed most of the gaskets and it runs fine.

Pretty sure he wants to get rid of the whole car as the auto blew up and he doesn't want to fix it.
