Swap VS Commodore for earlier model

Hey guy's, I have a 96 VS commodore exec that i'm lookin at swapping for an earlier model commodore. So i'm just doing a feel around at the moment to see what's out there. I prefer a v8 due to towing commitments ( don't have to take the missus patrol ). I don't care if you have a vb or vn, just prefer a v8. I may look at all other earlier commodres as well. Now about my car.
It's a white 96 VS commodore exec. V6 auto, 180 000kays. Roof mount screen not connected, saas racing seats(drivers seat has a tear but easily fixed) they are mod plated,pacemaker extractors with a two and a half inch system ( not that old ),2 x10 inch subs in the boot with a couple of amps, 17 inch mags, heavy duty towbar, Reg till next week. should pass a rwc easy. Everything works on the car including a/c but gas is very low. Has a 5 cent peice of bubble rust on pass front door. Was professionally fixed about 2 year ago but obviously they didn't do a proper job.
With what i'm afer i don't care if it's a 253 or 308 auto or manual, reg or must be in rwc condition. I may look at a vn - vp calais? we'll see. I have a price in mind of what my car is worth so i will go from there.
I am located on the brisbane southside so prefer something in brisbane.

Depends on how it goes, i may have a few spare goodies to go with the car like ( lsd diff from vn ss, long range tank, 4 door elec window setup, vs statesman dash set up, plus anything else i might find ).
