2014 VF V8 engine noise - Zupps say its ok...???

Hi there,
Had this car about 3-4 months now, developed a noise during start up (wasn't bad initially) that would go for about 30 seconds
Went in for a check in December, response was "have to get a Holden rep out"
This was rescheduled and the car went in on Tuesday this week
By this time the noise was worse, now when I drive past anything that may echo (like a building) or put my foot down a bit, I hear a tweety sound on acceleration (at any time, hot or cold)
They wanted it to Friday, however Wednesday around mid day I got a call.. its ready to go

I picked it up and they have done nothing!!!!!!!
The paperwork says all within normal range, no faults...
This is NOT normal for a car that has only done only 22k

Now its only a few months away from warranty running out and i am peeved!!
This noise is obviously internal, sounds like piston slap ..

What are my options .. has anyone had this problem or any problem that they wouldn't fix???

Ready to send off any email and blast them, this noise would also make the car impossible to sell.. degrading the value massively (Kinda a moot point, but I feel ripped off!)

Fuming... what can I do!!!

I feel I have been backed into a corner to purchase a further 3 years warranty

I would hope that because this issue has been documented before the passing of the warranty if you had any major issue resulting in this noise it would still be covered? But it could just be Holden fobbing you off till the warranty has expired.....Hope not!

I'm on the south side, although I travel a fair bit for work (in a work car)
I do have work in Redclife on Wednesday.
Wont hear the cold start though... which is my main concern

Redcliffe Wed is good.

Have same engine, same issue, various approaches to repair that over 18 months, finally complete tear down, overhaul and rebuild. There are a few red herrings so might be able to narrow it down for you.

There are a couple of bulletins out relating to noise on L77's in VF1. One relates to a chirpy type resonance noise and the other is that a small amount of piston slap is within engineering specs (tolerances of piston to bore are designed to be correct when warm/at operating temperature).

You probably need the second opinion, but LS motors are noisy. They've been that way for the ~18 years they've been in Commodores and it isn't going to change. If it's not clattering or badly chirping from the valvetrain and it's not loudly knocking from the bottom end it's fine.

Happy to have a look if you're ever inland a bit from Bris.

Mine is auto, stadard internals, but exhaust, cai, tune, etc. I drive it with spirit. Have often hit the limiter, in first particularly. 62,000k's on odo. No abnormal noises whatsoever. Being all alloy they do transmit normal internal noises more tham a cast iron block.
I haven't heard the chirpy noise, or any knocks.
Maybe post a vid or audio file?
Could it be the oil you're using? I've always used Penrite Enviro.
