I rather like the look of it, BUT it will be against some good stuff when it arrives.
Being a smaller vehicle than we are used to a Commodore being Mazda 6 and Ford Mondeo come to mind......Both good in their own right.

I'm not crazy about FWD, hair dryers on 2 litre cars and in particular I hate soot blowers, so for me it would have to be the AWD 3.6 naturally aspirated version...........But at what cost?

I'd say Supercars (the category) will keep the same chassis layout since they're already a silhouette formula, the only major engineering change will be swapping to a V6T from a V8. So same/similar chassis to current, new panels, new engine. It's not like V8SC has consisted of converted road vehicles for years anyway.

Can't say I'm liking the way this new Commodore is looking, All I can really say is RIP V8 Supercars, wonder what they'll call it now? Turbo V6 Supercars? Meh...

Probably what they call it now.....Supercars.

No one will notice. Peugeot badge looks just like a Holden's.

For the average punter FWD is completely totally fine. Driven at 6 tenths, there is no difference in feel. Maybe the turning circle is tighter? The only real drawback may be towing but these days I see more 4WD utes towing large items than the remaining Commodores/Falcons on the roads. I have a FWD Mazda 3 and sometimes on local twisty routes I drive it with considerable gusto and its 100% ok. Would I buy a new Commodore? Probably not, too expensive and big. I prefer Corolla-Sized cars as my daily, to be honest. Astra? If they rebaged as an Opel, maybe, from all reports its a pretty good car. But a Holden it is not.

But yes for racecar, FWD is ridiculous.
