3.8 ecotec wont rev when you stab the throttle

Having a drama with my vs ecotec 3.8. When you stab the throttlw it wot rev it will want to die, when you rev it up slowly it will rev. New airflow sensor,tps,leads and plugs, im also running a bosh 044 pump, the motor is in a rock crawler and cant fogure out whats going on with it, cheers for any input

Sounds like it could be low fuel pressure, restricted air intake or bad injectors? Could even be bad coils with weak spark.

I was gonna get a new reg tomorrow and try that, fuel delievery couldn't be a drama as it runs abosh 044, could be bad injectors i guess, any way to test coils?

The old Gregory's manuals for the VS are pretty good.
You could pull each lead off one by one while idling and see off your arm gets a belt from each one :) or from memory you can pull both leads off one coil and watch the spark jump between the terminals. Don't quote me it's been a while since a had a Ecotec.

What's the idle like? Smooth or a bit rough?
Idles smooth bud, but when u suddenly accelerate it wont rev up. U have to gradually rev. It feela like mixture thing, tps, and airflow have been changed so im guessing fuel reg?

Hmmm... Sounds like it could be a fuel pressure issue. Either that or you've got a vacuum leak somewhere

Did you say you replaced the MAF?

Do you have any way to check for fault codes?
