383 stroker build

Hi everyone i am building a 383 stroker for my vp ute. Its a 5 speed manual and i want to keep it manual. I was basically just after ideas to either upgrade my t5 box to handle the power (mechanic reckons around 500hp mark) or if not possible what kind of manual box replacements are out there? TIA...

Assuming your sticking with NA, 500hp is a very big stick, its doable for sure manual but the powerband will be 3500 and upwards. Id be suggesting a auto (manualised if you still want to keep shifting) with either a T700 or T350 box, coupled with a decent 3500+ converter to suit the engine and what you'll be doing with the car.

T5 is a great box, and can handle well and truly more than it's rated for.
But 500hp is going to be stretching the friendship...

Beefing up the internals could be an option, but expensive.
Probably end up cost more than buying a TKO Tremac, which will easily handle the power.
