acid dip or sand blast or both?

Hi all.
im making a coffee table out of this rb25 block. its cast iron

i need to clean it up.
do i want to acid dip it, sand blast it or both?

after cleaning it, i plan on giving it a clear coat or painting it black

Haven't been in a machine shop in years, but I remember some used to put blocks in a tank with some sort of solution to clean them up.
Maybe give one a call, tell them you need a block cleaned and see what they could do for you
Might be a cheaper option than sandblasting

not a coffee table I would like to stub my toe on . . either acid or sand / soda blaster will clean this up well.
