That is good news to the Op, please keep us informed as I'll be keeping an ear on our L76 as others have these problems also.

Cheers

If you have an AFM Auto Series 1 Commodore then it will be an L76. The L77 came out with the Series 2.

Again...this info needs to be confirmed for Aussie Commodores.....but yes....GM (USA) stated fixing the L76 lifter tick with revised lifters as of November 2010. It would be good if somehow we could confirm exactly what is in the L77 from beginning of Series 2's compared to a recently built Series 2. I'd like to know exactly how many AFM lifters are in there and what part number they are??

Nothin yet mate, but i'm thinking it will be next week or early the next. Getting the engine isn't the problem from what i'm told, it's getting it to intergrate into the older engine bay. The last thing anyone wants is for allthis work to cause further problems so i guess they are taking their time and getting the right advice before doing the job.

Couldn't imagine too much bastardization required to fit a long L77?

Well the engine and whatever else required is waiting at the dealers, the car is due to dropped in on Tuesday morning and Holden are kindly picking up the tab for rental VE Omega until its fixed. I'm expecting it to be back on the road by next friday, fingers crossed!

I'll keep you guys posted
