Whats the best place to locate the gas strut ends on the boot lid hinge on VN. I have positioned them on the boot lid hinge and then onto the hinge support on the body however the force of the struts pops the lid up approx 15mm. The struts were purchased for the veh from Auto Barn and are recommended for the veh. Any advice appreciated!

ive always just ran with the originals on the vn vp cars. youre probably going to run into a situation of trying to make chicken soup out of chicken ****, and it will never work properly. good luck though...

Yes you're right! Spoke to a reliable mech today and he said the same, struts are a bad idea. Have located another set of original torsion bars, putting them in tomorrow. Thanks
