changing k bar

hi all

my son had an accient in his vn 1988 he hit the right side and knock the k bar about i am looking for anyone who knows how to change a k bar and is it hard to fix and are there any pictures to show me what it exactly is. would appreciate any help thank you

The K-frame is the front crossmember - the control arms hang off it, and the engine mounts & steering rack bolt to it as well.

Not a small job, but can be done. I had to do mine back in Christmas.
Basically you need to disconnect your power steering arms from the struts. Disconnect your struts from the K Frame (Ball joints.) Then you will need a motor hoist to hold the motor up as the engine mounts bolt onto the K Frame so when you take the K Frame out the motor will be suspended.
But it took us two days to do our car. But hopefully you will be better equipped then what we were.
