Hi all, sons VZ 2004 SV6 came up with code P2544 Torque Management Request Input Signal A. I have done some research about the code, so I,m interested if anyone else here has had the same code come up and how they fixed it. I cleared the code and got the car home, but I,m guessing it will come back and will need to be looked at. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Could be the PCM at fault or could be an issue with the powertrain.
Maybe take it to a Holden service centre and see if they can pinpoint it.
Are there any other symptoms? Like powertrain error on dash coming back?
99.9% of the time in a VZ the coils fail throwing up a powertrain error.
Have the chains been replaced? It could be a sign of something worse to come

Hi, since we cleared the code and drove home about 25km the error and drivetrain error haven't returned. Didn't really want my son driving it til find out more info. Have contacted usual mechanic and he is doing some checking, other than that it maybe a visit to Holden. Thanks for your help.

Coil packs will throw up an error before they actually show signs of failure.

If you removed the error code and it hasn't come back that's a good sign a coil will fail

Thanks for that info. Will look at replacing coil packs.

that isnt a coil pack code. any code logged in the pcm will through the powertrain light on. it could be the computer recognised something a bit different for a brief period and logged the code, the code may never come back on so dont go and spend hundreds on 6 coil packs when its not needed, wait and see if the light re appears and if its the same code. a coil pack will throw a mis fire code.
