Then why are they telling me it is a engineering sample and not released to the public? You saw my video? He said I was the first to have it installed .. so maybe recent production models of VF2 already have the latest off the assembly line.

So if you already have it, why can't this be made available to all VF owners? It's already installed in your car , why can't anyone get this by purchasing it and having it installed? It's not available from any spare parts department at any Holden Dealership to the best of my knowledge. You would think if it is already on a production model that is out there the map update would be painless and freely available.

Do you have 9 menu items in the software version information?

Holden Customer Assistance emailed me and stated this:

I think the MyLink hardware has gone through at least two revisions since the VF launch and I seem to recall reading somewhere it was three. It may be a case that the software hasn't been installed on an earlier VF/MyLink hardware revision before and thus the install/update process is indeed new.

My Gryocal has gone to 100% but my Odocal is still at 67%

Now both at 100% fully calibrated. I needed to take the car for a run to work on the motorway at 100-110km/h there and back did the trick !!! The maps do look different to what I had before that's for sure.

Yes, they certainly look different. Would you say they seem clearer to follow? I wonder if the routing algorithm has changed as well. The present one takes some strange routes, sometimes.

Alot of map suppliers update the maps 3 times a year (~every 4 months).. soo.. your version could technically be the most recent? Which is why the new update for Rogan matches yours.

Next update may be soonish?

I have no doubt it's the most recent... but it's at least a couple of years out of date as previously discussed on here.

I wish car manufacturers brought out map updates as often as TomTom.

I don't know what you've experienced, but my latest one also takes some strange routes sometimes.... so it's probably not changed lol

Mine took almost 200km to get to 100% for gyrocal and odocal ....

But you didn't get your maps updated , only MyLink which doesn't make any sense , I now have an option for maps for AUS or NZ under my Destination/Suburb Location now ! This calibration screen is only for Holden Engineers and only for map updates and I have never been shown it before for a MyLink update. Not even my dealer (refer to my video) was aware of it and was working off printed instructions from Holden TAC and even then he got it wrong and had to call them!

The Odocal & Gyrocal only require calibration after a map update, not a MyLink update. I am the first VF owner to actually get their maps updated in Aus from what I was told -refer to my video. You cannot walk into any dealership and ask for this-they won't do it or will tell you it's not available until (pick a date between end of this year and end of 2017)

Ill have to check when I do a normal mylink update. But maybe the odocal and gyrocal resets even when a standard mylink update is performed (Not Nav update), no-ones been able to check this as they little hidden screen was not known until now.

Im thinking the Holden techs made a big fuss about those two calibrations for no apparent reason. They are self learning and dont appear to cause any problems.

At least your efforts proved they have successfully done it once... maybe that will get the ball rolling.

.

OK please do this would be interested to know. The service advisor wouldn't have shown this to any customer just for a MyLink update as part of the service. As you said it is a hidden screen. My MyLink has been updated 3 times to my knowledge since new and never was this hidden screen brought to my attention.. There would be no purpose. But it may be the case so you could check on this.
