Can i put a V8 bell housing on a V6 transmission to fix the bolt pattern problem or does it have a different size input shaft?

not sure about the input shaft but u can fit them. most fit the v8 t5 onto a v6 since the v8 box is stronger

As far as I know the input shaft is a different length on v8 and v6 boxes. Common to fit the V8 bell housing on V6's though.

From what I have heard if you shorten the v6 input shaft it should work with the V8.

I believe the V8 has a different bolt pattern on casing than a V6 box and therefore the V8 bell housing won't simply bolt onto a V6 box. See

But according to the above diagram, the V8 Commodore VR is diagram A, as is the V6 T5 Commodore.

These would work right?

Correct, only a VR V8 T5 box would bolt up to a V6 Bell housing.
